Along with the way primitive people were influenced by their environment, the modern inhabitant of a megalopolis is influenced by the architectural designs of his city. Have you ever noticed, for example, how different the tastes of the residents of the two capitals, St. Petersburg and Moscow, are?
Along with the architectural forms of buildings, internal structures, supply systems, etc. are also changing. For what purpose? In connection with the development of the individual, the economy and other areas, preferences and needs change — the task of a modern architect is to meet these very needs. For example, in the Far East and Siberia, because of the lack of sun, residential buildings are decorated with colorful drawings, this helps to diversify the landscapes for the eyes of people who see the sun and greenery less often, due to climatic features.
In megacities, the needs are somewhat different — it is necessary to show progress, the desire for the stages of post-industrialism. For this purpose, the towers of the well-known Moscow city appeared, and with them the other architecture of the big city develops. In the variety of style solutions of the architectural project of the building, some still lead as a trend-let’s look at them and find out why.
Constructivism.
The architectural design of the building in the constructivist style was characterized by rigor, geometricism, conciseness of forms and functionality — this is the embodiment of not yet forgotten Soviet ideas in the simplicity of implementation and quick construction stages.
Often, administrative buildings are built in this style, less often-residential ones. In any case, the trend towards constructivism, as well as in mass construction, has not subsided for quite a long time, because the goal of this direction is what is still relevant today — the artistic development of the possibilities of modern scientific and technological progress.
Organic architecture.
Another trend, more Western than Russian. The architectural design of the building in the organic style is a structure not so much trying to stand out, but rather trying to merge with nature, to harmonize with it. Synthesized with the bio-tech substrate, organic architecture involves the use of natural forms. Regarding materials-organic architecture can be compared to high-tech, only the forms of the building differ — high-tech refers in this case to constructivism and cubism.
The appearance of the building symbolizes the desire of a person to be alone with nature and relax from the hustle and bustle of the city — such houses are often built outside the city, live plants and trees are used as external decor.
Hi-tech.
High-tech in architecture, first of all, is associated with high comfort and futuristic forms. As a style, high-tech appeared in the 20th century and its main features are the use of modern technologies in construction and engineering, a large amount of glass, plastic and metal, the use of constructivist elements. Architectural projects of buildings in the high-tech style are mainly public due to the high cost of implementation — most often skyscrapers with business centers, elite restaurants, fitness clubs and observation decks.
Classicism.
Classicism is one of the oldest architectural styles, which originated in the sixteenth century. Its distinctive feature is the use of elements of ancient architecture. Harmony, rigor and monumentality – these words can briefly describe the concept of classicism. This is the style of administrative buildings and cultural centers. Classicism attracts with its rigor and beauty in simplicity, is associated with classical art forms and reminds of a rich past. Also, classicism is usually associated with elitism and high cost, something that is available to a few — convenience, calm classical beauty and this very elitism.
